OWA logon failure when configured "Log on to ..." under Windows Server 2008 R2 for a Domain user
Hi there,i get a strange behavior with OWA under Exchange Server 2007 SP2 RUP1 after Migration the Domain from Windows Server 2003 Domain Controller to a Windows Server 2008 R2 Domain Controller. When the Settings "Log on to .." for log on to a specific Workstation is confugured under the Account tab for a specific Domain User, the User cannot log on to OWA. After removing these setting so the user can again use every Domain Computer log on to OWA ist working again. Is this behavior known to anyone? Domain und forest functional level are still on Windows Server 2003 because the old DC has not been removed yet. Thanks,Gernot

Historically, restricting logon to specific workstation has broken OWA access exactly as you describe. Adding the OWA server to the list of machines on the "log on to" setting can resolve this problem, but I'd suspect there is a much more elegant (group policy based) solution to restrict which workstation a user can log onto rather than use the legacy "log on to" right.-aseigler
